Quality Options for Accent Diamonds

Good - SI2-I1 clarity, H-I color: This is the best quality to get if you're on a budget, and the diamonds still look good. These goods are commonly referred to in the diamond industry as "SI3 diamonds" These would appraise with EGL as SI3 and GIA as I1 because GIA only has a SI2 grade and not a SI3. However they are very good GIA I1's, borderline SI2. and will be clean and sparkly. When you look very closely from the top of the diamond you may be able to see very small inclusions, but to the untrained eye, you can't really see anything. From the bottom or sides of the diamond, inclusions will be visible. H-I color diamonds are still white, J color is when you start getting slightly yellowish and not recommended for fine jewelry.

Better - SI1-SI2 clarity, G-H color: These diamonds are probably your best bet if you want good quality stones without too high a budget. Inclusions will not be visible from the top with the naked eye, and will only be visible using 10x magnification. Some inclusions may be visible from the sides if you look very closely, however for smaller side stones, it is virtually impossible to see with the naked eye. G-H color diamonds are nice and bright white. This quality range is a very good value given the higher quality.

Best - VS1-VS2 clarity, F-G color: These diamonds are for those who simply want the best diamonds in their setting. VS clarity diamonds will have no inclusions visible no matter if you're looking from the top, side or bottom. Even under 10x magnification, inclusions are hard to see. F-G diamonds are top bright white. We use VS clarity and F-G color diamonds in our best range because higher clarity VVS or higher color D-E color stones are much more rare and hard to match perfectly in size, shape, color in a setting with many small stones.
