We are very proud to offer a lifetime warranty on ALL our jewelry which warranty them against manufacturer's defects. This does not include products that show obvious signs of abuse.

Example of an item covered: A figaro chain which had a faulty clasp which no longer closed securely.
Example of an item NOT covered: A herring bone chain that was pinched accidentally, which caused permanent deformation of the metal.

If you feel your product has a manufacturer's defect, you will need to contact us first. We will give you a Return Authorization #, and only then may you ship it to us. We will not accept any packages which do have a RA# clearly indicated on the outside of the parcel. If defective, we will repair or replace it at our discretion. We will work hard to ensure you get your jewelry back in a timely fashion, and that no charges are incurred of you. This means we will pay for all shipping charges, postage, etc. If there are signs of abuse then we will repair or replace it at the your cost or return it, as per your instructions.

Tension Set Rings:

All tension set rings sold come with a 100% lifetime warranty against defects, and the center stone is gauranteed to not come loose or we will replace with a similar stone of equal or greater value free of charge.

What is considered acceptable where you are fully protected:
Normal every day use and wear and tear.
Impacting the ring at moderate to low forces on hard objects (such as hitting your ring finger on a granite countertop without excessive force).
Regular ultrasonic cleaning, steam cleaning and light polishing where temperatures do not exceeed 250°F.
Rhodium plating by a local jeweler (if you so choose to do so). Not required for Palladium or Platinum Alloys.

What is considered tampering or voiding the warranty of your ring:
Having any jeweler not authorized by DY Jewels alter your ring in any way not as indicated above. This includes but is not limited to: ring sizing, engraving, heavy polishing (removing 0.05 grams or more of material), tightening of prongs for side stones, re-setting of side stones, etc.
Applying heat in excess of 250°F
Using force to open the setting by use of any means including the aid of tools.
Attempting to alter the composition of the alloy, memory of the tensile load, tensile strength or hardened capacity (such as making the ring softer or more brittle) by use of heat or any other means.

How do we know if it's been tampered with or if the stone just came loose?

A diamond won't just suddenly come loose, certain conditions must occur for it to happen. In the event of manufacturing defect there must be an internal crack or flaw in the material or porosity caused by a poorly cast ring. When loaded in the tension setting over time, this crack or defect could propogate and damage the ring theoretically (even though this has never happened as far as we know except for rings that were made to the yield point of the metal which is aproximately 120,000psi). This type of defect is very easy to see because the metal has not been altered anywhere and the defect is in plain sight. If someone maliciously attempts to extract the diamond or damage the ring it becomes very obvious. For example if heavy forces (such as a sledge hammer) were to impact the ring the stone could be set loose. However in this case there would be very heavy deformation of the metal inconsistent with regular use because the ring is built so strout and heavy. In the case of heating the ring, the grain structure of the metal alloy changes composition. So unless the ring has been tampered and you have not voided the warranty as indicated above, you can rest assured your stone is 100% protected against loss.
